Our Flexibility
Posted by Flick
To just show you how flexible our service is, we have a list of top viewed images on the FlickCabin.com main page, the top visited image as of now is this:
http://flickcabin.com/public/view/996
It has been viewed 7,344 times, in just 3 days, which is quite staggering however the image in question has not been terminated/suspended and this is just to show you how flexible we are. I may start up a competition to see if anyone can beat that image viewing statistic; would be quite interesting to see how people would beat that mark.
Again, this is just to show you exactly how flexible FlickCabin is and how we value images which are uploaded, they are virtually going to be hosted by us forever. As the raise in bandwidth also rises, we will just simply add more and more so you don’t have to worry as your images will stay online! Furthermore the image seems to depict a humans brain showing you the interesting parts of our brains, if I do more research into where the image was posted, I might be able to find something which can explain what exactly the image is. ![]()
New design + New Script
Posted by Flick
Hey people,
Yes that is right! FlickCabin.com has undergone a nice update, with a new script and more powerful design we have incorperated the usage and full potential of the traffic that is brought in. The 15,000 images we previously hosted were not lost and are still being hosted, so there are no worries there plus older images are still being hosted. As for the new script, you can now register up and experience the full features of what we now have to offer. There was quite a bit of downtime during the huge transaction to the new script and design and we appoligize for that however now things can only get better. The current usage of bandwidth has fallen considerably due to the downtime that happened and we are close enough to using just around 100GB of bandwidth for this month however I suspect the 100GB mark will grow to 150GB of bandwidth during the rest of this month.
I’m also hoping a pagerank update occurs soon as I’m also hoping we get pagerank 5 on Flickcabin.com; that would be so sweet. However at minimum the pagerank would at least turn to pagerank 3 if not 4 seeing as we have over 8,000 back-links for Flickcabin.com (I’ve been working hard) as well as the users who upload and publish their images on forums and the like. So yeah, things are to only get better. Currently the site is under ‘beta’, as there a few flaws that need to be worked out and some design updates/edits which need to be made, they will come very, very soon.
Stay tuned and we hope you like the new gallery! ![]()
Transfer of servers
Posted by Flick
Hello,
Yesterday we transferred onto a more reliable network and altogether service, as the current server/network we were on was just to unreliable. We have switched to a more dedicated solution for FlickCabin.com and the blog + upload service are hosted on two separate servers, so if one server goes down, you’ll be able to find information on why; on this blog. If then the blog goes down, then the FlickCabin.com service is still readily available and to those who actually want to use our service instead of reading blog posts! However just for fun, we have used the following amount of bandwidth as of this month up to this day (5 more days till the end of the month!): 270452 so in general we are utilizing around an average of 300GB of bandwidth per month; as we have worked out the total usage of bandwidth per day and added 5 days of bandwidth usage onto the current usage.
What is also awesome is that our traffic is staying fairly average without us having to advertise, mostly coming from organic traffic etc. Traffic is indeed increasing as we have received around 6,000 + unique visitors this month with 1874666 hits alone this month. - This is all through hardly any advertising (Manual advertising) as it seems the sites we are currently advertised on are sufficed to say able to provide us with a constant amount of new, unique visitors with a nice flow of people coming back; which is awesome! If you use the FlickCabin.com service, we would encourage users to advertise our services as we do provide a truly awesome service and lets get real; it’s simple and no to ad intrusive! We are also thinking of introducing a nice small forum where people can come suggest ideas and get updates on the service!
We have also partnered with a free file host, in which we hope to receive traffic from each other!

Also please stay tuned as we are planning a face lift for FlickCabin.com!

Update
Posted by Flick
We noticed we had an upload problem yesterday however we have now corrected this issue and the issue only pertained to being a memory limit set inside the server! As said this has been corrected and FlickCabin services have continued to normal standards. Any images which were uploaded yesterday were not uploaded however all images which were already on the server were not affected by this; this was simply issue with the server that has been resolved. We have also made some changes to the Google AdSense placements, we hope people don’t mind as they seriously aren’t to intrusive.
I also forgot to update that we are still getting people uploading pornographic material, this is not tolerated and this will not tolerated so as affective of the 10th of June, we will be contacting ISPs and getting your internet shut down, we have already contacted two ISPs and they have reported to the closure of two IP addresses. We don’t want to report people, but if you do not follow our terms of service’s there will be consequences. Thus reports are only made to the that higher of magnitude when people upload illegal images!
Thanks!
300GB of bandwidth used this month
Posted by Flick
FlickCabin.com - has used around 299GB+ of bandwidth this month, it wasn’t what I really expected, however bandwidth for the last few days literally has been literally increasing and increasing in such a way the service is not getting enough back for what is being used. I’m thinking of changing the service a bit, so that your image will have a limit to how much bandwidth it can use and it will be temporarily suspended for say like a day and will automatically be unsuspended after it goes off it’s bandwidth usage. However this is only an option in mind if the bandwidth usage goes to high. I mean if the service starts using 1TB of bandwidth, the it simply wouldn’t be worth keeping it up and I think I would have to sell it. Though I cannot wait until we introduce the new and improved FlickCabin, which will include limitations as well as a registration service.

Pornography is not allowed
Posted by Flick
I just went through nearly over 2000 files, and I deleted quite a lot of pornography. Just to make it clear, we DO NOT allow pornography, and we do not endorse it, please find an adult image host if you want to upload your pornography. Otherwise it will just get deleted over and over and your posts which you post the porn on, will be significant to nothing. I suggest you do not upload anything else which coincides with pornagraphic images or you will get banned from our network. We even clearly state in our terms of service that we do not strictly allow pornagraphic materials! So please do not upload it otherwise you will just be wasting your time and we can actually see the website our image hosting is referring from and we will blacklist every website which we come accross which uploads pornagraphic materials from our host to your web forums.
Thanks.
Traffic going up

As time is going by, FlickCabin is getting more and more unique visitors thus why we are showing you how much traffic we are getting and also how much bandwidth our service is consuming. Today we reached actually quite a peak in the number of unique visitors, we reached around 800+ visitor(s) just TODAY and the day has not even ended, I’m hoping we reach at least 900 unique visitors; we also consumed a total of 20GB of bandwidth in just one day, making the total usage of 120GB+ of bandwidth. Even if FlickCabin doesn’t make as much money which is being paid out for the free service through ads, we have a dedicated server which is shared on another service we provide and in total we have 2 terabytes of bandwidth which can be consumed, if we run out, we simply buy more.

We seem to be doing quite well in getting visitors, hopefully we can get some money from the ads to improve our service and enhance it with public galleries and user registration for those who want to store all their information and data on our service. - Thus if we actually do bring this along, you will be able to upload documents from such software which Microsoft produce. (Microsoft: Word and a long line of other products which will be allowed to upload to our services)
This is actually an independent source from which we have recorded the visitors and from what you can see on our main website, which you can click and see how many visitors we get. - It’s quite a useful tool and we thank such service being around; it’s awesome and the best thing it’s free! - Also we can’t actually fake from the service (’If we’d even like to’) the amount visitors we get, so all from what you see on that website which monitors visitors; is totally the true amount. Furthermore ‘images’ are also not recorded from this service, what I mean is that cPanel Aw Stats, counts the number if images (From which we host) as visitors coming to our main website, from which isn’t actually true. So this service shows the true amount, as we have to of course put an ad-code on the front page in order for this service to work!

FlickCabin reached a record today
Posted by Flick
Hello,
As of today, FlickCabin.com has reached a record for FlickCabin itself, it’s reached something which normal users of FlickCabin may not know about; however it’s a benchmark to what we at FlickCabin offer. We have actually reached the 100GB bandwidth mark, meaning have used 100GB of premium bandwidth line for our services, we can go even higher than this as this is just a small amount. However this does show us that our service is being used in a big way as we get hundreds of hits per day from unique people to people keeping who have used our services and have come back to use it! I’m also hoping the pagerank will increase for FlickCabin.com due to the high amount of images being hosted in peoples signatures on forums, myspace, blogs and a whole line of Internet usage, thus with this market of pagerank in place we can actually sell banners on our website!
The newest picture at FlickCabin is this one:

Not exactly sure what it is, however it links a Russian military website… I think it’s a conspiracy, the Russians are taking over!
Second latest image to be hosted:

Third latest image to be hosted:

The guy above is actually my third favourite actor, so kudos to the person who uploaded this picture! - I’m also going to watch his latest film, you know what it’s called, Indiana Jones!

Welcome to the FlickCabin.net Blog!

Welcome to the new FlickCabin.net blog! This blog is a sister website in partnership with the same guys at ‘FlickCabin.com‘. I was actually going to turn this into a sister site of an enhanced version of FlickCabin.com, with registration available for uploading files/images however I came to the conclusion it would be much more easier to run one image host as opposed to two sister sites… due to marketing and hosting needs needed to run a service like FlickCabin.COM.
With that above said, I’m loving the new wordpress version, as I haven’t updated my blog with this version, the whole layout looks very web 2.0 and nicer than the old version. Moving on, this blog will bassically be giving you information on FlickCabin.com and it services and perhaps if we decide to upgrade FlickCabin.com to a service where registration will be allowed along with public upload being available.
